Reformer Pilates 01

Dynamic Reformer

Performed on our exclusive, state of the art, latest model machines from Balanced Body®, this workout challenges the core like nothing else, reforming your muscles evenly.

Enhancing coordination, balance and endurance while focusing on developing a powerful core, you will benefit from increased flexibility and strength. With an emphasis on alignment and breathing, the rewarding endorphin release calms the mind, while the workout alters the physique in methods that traditional exercise simply cannot match.

Apprentice Reformer

The Apprentice classes are about striking a balance between getting familiar with the reformer and isolating muscle groups to activate them correctly. Providing not only a great workout but also the sympathetic support, encouragement and reassurance that every beginner needs.

Three or four of these classes will get you used to the correct exercise techniques at a comfortable pace, putting you in a stronger position to tackle the tougher Dynamic classes. Or if have an injury or imbalances, apprentice sessions are the place to be – and prevent you from pushing too hard, too soon.

Our one to one sessions allow the focus to be all on you. It’s fantastic to learn what your body needs and what exercises your body reacts to through someone who has immense knowledge of fitness, alignment and physiology.

MOTR Pilates 03

The Reform MOTR class is an action packed cardiovascular workout! Discover clever ways to challenge your agility, core, balance and strength with 55 minutes of functional training.

Reveal imbalances in the body with a balance component that keeps you distracted as your heart rate soars.

The roller type apparatus creates a challenging foundation. It is stabilised from beneath but the cylinder type surface creates a new found level of core strength as you’re required to balance as well as execute the move.

Cardiovascular fitness will increase as we maintain the heart rate above 130 bpm throughout, with intensity pushed to fatigue at 5 min intervals. Similar to HITT training.

Increase strength with resistance levels of light, medium and heavy. Operated by cables with a click mechanism And if all that wasn’t enough….. improve flexibility as well by stretching with resistance and finishing off with some welcome myofascial release as the body is rolled out on the well designed piece of kit.

NO INJURIES

I’m afraid as this class moves at a fast pace. The compression element in the joints must be optimal to react to the quick changes in body position and biomechanics. Otherwise the joint torque on specifically ankles, knees and shoulders would be to intense if weakness exists.

Barre 04

Our low-impact workout focuses on proper alignment.

The classes blend cardio, strength training, flexibility, balance and core conditioning in a total body workout that targets the hips, glutes, abs, and arms. Classes are set to upbeat music and incorporate high repetitions of classic barre moves to help craft a long, lean and strong physique. Each class begins with a vigorous warm-up, we use small balls, resistance bands, and hand weights to do floor work as well as take these to the barre.

We end with a full stretch with our instructors always on hand to guide you through every step. You’ll see rapid visible results in just a few visits, from your stamina and body awareness to your posture, which will undoubtedly entice you to crave the barre more.

Physiotherapy 05

Our physiotherapists are dedicated to find the source of the patients injury, illness or disability with treatment through movement and exercise, manual therapy, education and advice. Helping patients to manage pain and prevent disease with the common goal to encourage development and facilitate recovery.

Initial Assessment

Our Initial Assessments are a one hour appointment where full history and issues are discussed and the therapist can examine and determine the plan for the patient going forward.

Treatments

Our 30 or 60 minute Treatments are dedicated to the therapy of the patient. Working to improve the imbalance or injury at hand, putting the plan into action to manage pain and facilitate recovery.

Movement Assessments

Reform’s customised movement assessments are a fantastic way to get an insight into the issues or imbalances in your body. Learning how to tune into your do’s and don’t in class after the expert analysis of our physio team. Your overall alignment and weight distribution will be looked at with focus on any underlying issues or perhaps highlighted some bad habits to allow you to get the most out of your Reform Classes.

Stretch 06

Stretching is essential to improve flexibility, but what are the knock on effects of being more flexible?

 

Our stretch class focuses on improving athletic performance.

Stretching helps you achieve better form in just about any workout. For example with an everyday squat, it means you could get a lower.  In a reformer class, your knees and hip flexors will bend further in side lunge or skater for instance.

Reduced soreness and improved blood circulation are focused on as stretching increases blood flow through your entire body, including your brain.  It loosens your muscles and tendons which relieves muscle fatigue.

We achieve measurable results with myofascial release combined with dyno-band and trigger point ball exercises that get into the belly of the muscle.

We believe in stretching for injury prevention as nutrient supply is then increased and helps to speed recovery from muscle and joint injuries.

Energy and stamina are issues for our clients with busy lives.  Getting that stretch class in just once a week gets oxygen efficiently flowing through your blood, thereby increasing your endurance.

You’ll walk out the door floating on a release of endorphins. Stretching has powerful stress-busting abilities, not only will your body benefit but your mind too.
