Why Make Pilates a Part of Your Daily Life

September 3, 2018

There is no denying that regularly practicing pilates can have life changing benefits. However, integrating the exercise as part of your daily life has some lesser known benefits that you may not be aware of.

1. Escape The Daily Grind

Pilates urges you to focus on breathing, listening to your body and understanding how your body and the muscles move together. This allows you to escape the daily hustle and bustle of every day life. For a short time, forget about work, home life, family life and just be present in the moment. Doing this daily can improve your focus, as well as relieving any stress and benefiting your overall mental health.

2. Ease Back Pain

Pilates is often recommended to help ease back pain. Pilates movements strengthen your core, in turn strengthening support for the back. Pilates not only improves posture and encourages good alignment, it provides a gentle but effective solution for stretching back muscles. Pilates has minimal impact on the joints and is therefore renowned for also preventing injury. It is important that if you do suffer from back pain, to first consult a healthcare professional before undertaking any exercise program.

3. Develop a Stronger Core

Your core is the mid section of your body. It includes all of your muscles in that area including; your abs, obliques and lower back muscles.
Practicing pilates on a regular basis strengthens your core, which has significant benefits to your overall health and fitness. It improves balance, posture and prevents injury to your muscles. By practicing these exercise routines daily, it engages your core muscles like no other work out through constantly adapting and keeping them guessing!

4. Boost Brain Power

Researchers have found that practicing regular pilates can boost brain power. In particular, it can improve memory performance and other cognitive functions. There is no better way to kick start your day, become more productive and get motivated!

5. Stay in Shape!

Pilates helps to create an evenly conditioned and toned body. Not only will you feel healthier and happier but you will look it too!
